beginning of 2012 - Sink the pass and look for brighter days ahead

Another 365-days gone, and while each and everyone is counting down to good tidings in the year ahead, i'm still in my single-hood.

It's not that i am badly complaning about it (the singlehood, NOT THE GOOD TIDINGS of-course!); but I just wanted a companion to deeply share things, nevertheless, i am still in good hands, celebrating with friends, laughing, eat, drink, joke, exchanging gifts. By looking in another way, i would say i am pretty rich (to be accompanied).

Things have been a turmoil for me for the past year, just couldnt find a job that really suits me, but all is good now in my not-so-new environment anymore, with all the wonderful colleagues & best working partner. You really need a partner that is on the same-page / wavelength to understand the amount of work you are going through.

Though I could a big mouthful most of the times, narrating neverendingly, bringing DGK temper to boil, but i hope she understands that i really appreaciate her and mean no harm to the words i say.

lastly, as the title goes, i am really looking forward to a wonderful days ahead, regardless work, play and sleep. best of all, the saying of a friend in need is a friend indeed; out of a sudden a 10yr old friend offered a job to a lost soul, thanks PO.

New Year Countdown @ Capricciosa

A post that was suppose to come out right after New Year 2012, I guess a few days late wouldn't matter, it is just a small posting of the new year countdown gathering will friends. I guess the pictures speaks for itself.

A group of 10 of us, ordered, eat, drink, joke, laugh & even exchange gifts (that was suppose to take place before X'mas but never came about). After dinner, was a walk in the mall (Swy Pyrd), then buzzing and queueing (by golly, it was far longer than usual) for ChaTime before heading over to Swy Rsrt Hotel & Spa before the struck of midnight.

It has been a while since Sunway actually let-out fireworks display, but this year, they sure did put on a 'bang' show.

I can't really recall the names of these dishes which is quite common on any Italian Restaurant menu in Malaysia, but all I can say is, it really taste's good.

Cheers to good health & happier times ahead.

Ushering the year of the DRAGON starts early for me @ Palace of the Golden Horses

There is a saying that says beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, but if you ask me, I, sometimes would say beauty lies in the hands of the creator.

In this case, I am referring to a 9-course CNY menu prepared by a so-called celebrity chef in a Chinese Restaurant, but they have recently change their name to Cantonese Fusion Restaurant, and it is non-other than Kim Ma which is situated inside Palace of the Golden Horses.

Before the end of 2011, majority Chinese restaurants / Hotels, have actually churn-out their set menu for Chinese New Year which falls quite early (23 Jan 2012 to be exact). And with my trustee handy-mobile-cam, I had the chance to actually loh-sang on 30 Dec 2011.

What an experience I had, because it isn't really a regular presentation of a normal course dinner. Living up to the celebrity chef title (Chef Roy Wong), dishes and dishes appearing before me just make my eyes gleam. No wonder they have change their name to Cantonese Fusion.

Allow me to speed you through the 2-hour dinner.

And they have a few CNY set menu to choose from too, the one I had was RM880++, just visit www.palaceofthegoldenhorses.com.my for more info.

Kim Ma Cantonese Fusion Restaurant is an exotic oriental restaurant in town that serves contemporary Cantonese cuisine that will definitely tempt your taste buds. Kim Ma which is named after the noble character of Golden Horse has a subtle and relaxing dining ambience.  The interior of the restaurant is designed in typical orient ornate with minimal and tasteful trappings. The restaurant uses fresh vegetable from the organic farm located at the hotel, planted using natural compass and no harmful pesticide.

Christmas Eve Buffet @ Palace of the Golden Horses

There was a time when celebration and outing was such a luxury for my family, despite things being or were much cheaper in our parent's generation; not forgetting the cost of living.

And with the passing of years, things have not change much, especially comparing the previous generation monthly wages against my current. The rise of expenses has doubled if not, tripled over a generation gap. Anyway, once a while that shouldn't hold you back from treating yourself to such luxurious lifestyle.

Carousel International Coffee House located at LG Floor inside Palace of the Golden Horses had a wide buffet spread install for Christmas, but what was nice was those Christmas settings. You can find common presentations ranging from turkey to puddings, with lots cookies such as ginger bread man and cakes taking forms of houses with chimneys. And they even have cupcakes in boxes ready for sale.

Lastly, I find that pricing wise is somewhat similar to other hotel offerings, but at RM118++ per pax, now you know why I said it is a luxury for me. Below are some photos I took with my mobile.
